Dec 25: Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas!
December Photo Project, it's been great.
Of all the lovely photos I could have gotten today, unfortunately this is all I got, as I woke up at 11:59 pm after falling asleep through a movie. :)

Dec 24: A White Christmas After All

A week ago, the chances of a white Christmas were slim to none.
But now the snow is falling, and not a minute too soon.

Dec 23: Watching

The windy days (and nights) have left this one spending far too much time watching the kitchen window.
He single-handedly ensures that some great windy fiend doesn't sneak in.

Because you haven't really made Christmas cookies until the spatula breaks.

Dec 21: Ornament Crafting

Tonight a good friend from high school came over to make Christmas ornaments!
This little house now lives on our tree.

Dec 20: Latch Hook

I can't imagine I was more than 8 when I got this latch hook kit.
Now don't ask me how I managed to do so, but...
I stand before you now, a couple months shy of 20 years old.
And I just finished it not ten minutes ago.

Dec 18: No Place Like Home

There's something so very very wonderful about being home.
I am so happy.
And so blessed.

Dec 16: One Last Late Night and Break Begins

What I did today:
8:00am exam
7:00-10:00pm exam
Rejoice that exams are over

What I then attempted to do:
Read scholarly articles in preparation for meeting with my research professor tomorrow
Become familiar with a molecular visualization program

What I feel like I really did:
Highlighted a lot of things
Struggled with Linux and command prompt

Which all culminated in this single overexposed image:

Believe me, it's not as impressive as it may look.

Dec 15

I've spent most of the day today hunkered down, studying for the two three-hour exams tomorrow holds and avoiding the news. Because my heart is heavy with what I have heard already.
Let's not forget to lift up the families affected in our prayers.

Today's December Photo Project photo:

Dec 14: Comfort

My heart breaks for those families in Connecticut.
John Piper posted this verse on Facebook, and it's worth resharing. It's a comfort.
"Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows," Isaiah 53:4

Dec 13: Lush Winter Arrangement

I have to say, it's lovely going to school where you don't have to look far for something picturesque.

Dec 12: Breakfast Treat

It may not look like much.
But let me tell you.
I LOVE apples.
And I ADORE peanut butter.
This is a breakfast treat, I assure you.

Dec 11: Paper Snowflakes

The agenda for December 11? 8 am Calculus final exam and the remainder of the day spent studying.
So I present to you another cell phone photo.
Paper snowflakes made during a much appreciated study break.

Dec 10: Morning with Middle School

Let me tell you, 20 middle school students in a chemical engineering lab are a lot of fun.
A lot more fun than this picture shows, obviously.
But, because of privacy considerations, you'll just have to imagine. ;)

Dec 09: Christmas Vespers

I feel like this could benefit from a crop.
But I can't bear to cut out that harp.
Call me crazy.

Dec 07: This is Me

Literally speaking, no, this is not me.
This is fog. Thick, thick fog that blankets the mountain whenever it rains.
It's not a good picture. It was taken with my poor-quality phone, and there was part of a building in the way that needed to be cropped out.
I was really tempted to not post it.
To just say, "Oops, guess I missed Dec 7." Or use a picture from another day.
But I want this blog to be a little space where I can live. Where I can be honest.
Where I can be everything I am, the good, the bad, and the ugly. So here it is. A little piece of my day, flawed as it may be. Because it happened.

Dec 05: Christmas Cards

I spent part of yesterday evening filling out Christmas cards to mail this morning.
I'm glad I'm old enough to send out my own Christmas cards, even if I may not be socially obligated to yet.
It was lovely to sit down and take the time to appreciate loved friends and family, near and far.
It made me realize how very, very blessed I am.

Dec 04

Today was a very, very busy day.
So my photo was taken late in the day.
And is somewhat boring.

Dec 04: College Essentials
Meet Flopsie and Olive, the two stuffed animals I brought to college with me.
Flopsie because he's been with me for probably almost 15 years now.
Olive because she's a recent gift.
They currently positioned on my desk. I like to see them there.

Over a Year Later: December Photo Project 2012

It's been a while.
A long, long while.
And I've been wanting to get back to blogging for a time now.
And December Photo Project gave me the motivation I needed to do it.
So here goes, two days late.
Over a year late.

My teeny-tiny dorm-room-friendly tree.
