Dec 19: Always Into Something (Cherokee, Of Course)

Two photos, one theme today.
One from first thing this morning, and one from shortly before bed tonight.

Just look at that face. It's obvious this cat is always getting himself into trouble.

Dec 18: Breakfast Crepes

Not pictured: gooey, delicious, banana nutella crepes.

Also, it's a terrible photo (unfortunately, it was not only taken with my phone, but with Snapchat to boot), but look! He loves me still!

Dec 17: Home

Home: complete with sweet decor and many cups of tea.

Catching Up: Dec 12-16

The last week has been full of finals and studying, so here's a catch-up post!

Dec 12:

Almost the entirety of the day was spent studying; I just managed to grab this photo with my phone after leaving a night-before-the-exam review session.

 Dec 13:

After a grueling 4-hours spent in an exam, this day, too, was devoted to studying, as well as making immaculate notecards.

Dec 14:

Snow flurries! We got dumped with a snowstorm all day, nixing my plans to go home for a couple days before my last final.

Dec 15:
Missed it. :(
Church was cancelled due to snow, but roads were clear by the evening, and several friends and I were fortunate enough to be welcomed into the beautiful home of one of our church's families for an evening of food and laughter. And I left my camera at home.

Dec 16:

Last late night of studying for the semester! Not a terribly aesthetic photo, but representative of this week--lots of notes to study, plenty of warm tea to drink, twinkling lights to lift spirits, and thoughtful care packages from our lovely church!

Dec 11: Snowflakes

I think I have a paper-snowflake-making photo every year. I guess that makes it a tradition.

Dec 10: Another Snowy Scene

It can't be helped; it's just too stinkin' beautiful out there.

Dec 8: Advent Candles

Dec 7: Fresh

Ugh, so many things I wish I had pictures of from today!
Snow flurries.
Ice skating.
Orchestra concert with my mom and sister.

But here is something little to celebrate.
This neighborhood now has a much-needed grocery store with fresh produce. Much, much needed. I am so very glad. For myself and for this community.

Dec 6: Everyday

Nothing too spectacular today, but I wanted to capture some little details as I realized tonight I'm going to miss this someday.
Here's to trying to appreciate the everyday.

Dec 5: Cookie Baking

Gluten-free snickerdoodles for my bible study group tonight. (Love ya'll!)

Dec 4: Photo Booth Fun

Just one of many fun shots after a great evening with friends...and my first time shooting a photo booth!

Dec 3: Advent Calendar

Our apartment's simple homemade advent calendar. :)
I whipped this up in no time. Perfect for this busy time of year.
What I used:
-6 sheets from a 6"x6" printed card stock pack
-24 paper clips
-about 8' of yarn (you can make it shorter or longer depending on your spacing
-this printable found here
Simple instructions:
1. Cut each of the 6 sheets into quarters.
2. Number each quarter 1-24. (You can get creative here; if I had more time, I would have liked to have used gold paint instead of a marker!)
3. Cut out printable and glue appropriate day to the back of each quarter.
4. Affix each tag to your string with your paper clips, hang up, and enjoy! :)

Dec 2: Back to the Grind

I'm trying to enjoy what bits of December I can, even amidst end-of-semester projects and assignment and upcoming finals. Even if it's just a string of lights, my Christmas radio station, and my Christmas blend coffee.

December Photo Project 2013: Dec 1

I wasn't going to keep up with December Photo Project on the blog this year, but I decided, "Eh, why not?" And, of course, I have several answers to that: I don't have the time, my blog isn't even active, etc, etc. But here I am. We'll see how it goes. I may end up sticking with just instagram, but we shall see. If that happens, find me at!
(P.S. I sort of miss you, blogging world!)
Today, due to spending a fair chunk of what little daylight we have driving back to school and then grocery shopping, I only managed this shot with my phone when I woke up. I can't believe December is already upon us. This year went by so quickly. So so quickly.

On This Icy Day

It's an icy day here in the northeast.
It seemed like a good day to pull this out of the photo file from last summer.
